e.l.f. is a drugstore brand of cosmetics that is sold in Target, Harmon, Walmart, Old Navy, CVS, Walgreens, K Mart, and online. Their goal is to create quality affordable makeup, and their makeup is indeed more than affordable: foundation for $6, lipsticks and concealers for $1, etc.
When I contacted e.l.f. they specifically said that their cosmetics do not have gluten or beeswax, but “we cannot guarantee that the machinery used to process our products are completely gluten free.” Their products are also hypoallergenic, non-comodogenic, and not tested on animals.
– foundations, concealers, primers, bronzers, blushes, tinted moisturizers
– eyeshadows, eyeliners, mascaras, concealers, primers, fake eyelashes
– lipsticks, lip glosses, lip liners, lip stains, lip treatments
– skin care
– nail polish
I have used e.l.f. products and had no trouble with them personally. If you’re worried about cross-contamination, then this is not the brand for you, but they do say the ingredients themselves are gluten free.
